AFPA Competition Results
On Saturday, March 1st, 2008 the AFPA team competed at the CDTA Ontario Dance Challenge and swept the competition!
You all did an amazing job, and made us all proud! Congratulations!!!
The Amazing results are as Follows:
- Alanna Davoren received silver standing for her very first musical theatre solo!
- David Kelly, Kyle Sanders and Ryan Woodland received silver standing for their Tap Trio!
- Emily Kempe received a first place and a gold standing for her Jazz Solo!
- Megan Leahy received a third place and silver standing for her very first lyrical solo!
- Taylor Hunt received a Gold standing for her very first Pointe Solo and received the
High Score Award for the Novice Solo Category!
- Rayne Nadurata received silver standing and a Second place for his very first Jazz Solo!
- Marissa Themeles received a first place, the Adjudicator's Choice Award and a gold standing for her first Lyrical Solo!
- Hannah Cowie received a Gold standing for her very first Jazz Solo!
- Michaela Boyd received a first place and a gold standing for her very first Musical Theatre Solo!
- Lexa Cutler received a second place and a gold standing for her very first Musical Theatre Solo!
- Paige Vonk received a first place and a gold standing for her very first Hip Hop Solo!
- Larrissa Jackson received a first place and a gold standing for her lyrical solo!
- Shakura Dickson received a gold standing for her Song & Dance Solo!
- The Performance Team received a gold standing for their Barnum production number
and received the award for “Most Entertaining”!
WAY TO GO AFPA!
Congratulations to Stephanie Traina, David Kelly, Kyle Sanders, Rachel Christopher, and Morgan Mitchell for receiving Silver Medals for top marks on their Royal Conservetory of Music Speach Exams. Excellent job ladies and gentlemen!
On Tuesday, December 20th Kyle Sanders competed in the Rotary Burlington Music Festival in the Speach Division. Kyle performed a self written speach on Superstitions and did an excellent job placing in first place with a mark of 88! Congratualtions Kyle!
The Annual BATD Scholarship competition took place on Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th in Toronto. Congratulations to all of the girls who went out, you did a fantastic job. We are all very proud of you!!
Larrissa Jackson competed in the Junior Ballet, Jazz and Stage Categories and placed in the top Ten for Jazz and Stage.
Taylor Hunt competed in the Senior Ballet Category and placed in the Top ten.
Taylor Hunt, and Emily Kempe, and Paige Vonk Competed in the Jazz Category. Taylor placed in the top ten!
Becky Fitzpatrick, Emily Kempe and Paige Vonk competed in the Stage Category.
Congratulations to all of the girls for being nominated for scholarships and going out and doing a fantastic job at the competition!
Highland Competition Results
Congratulations to Becky Fitzpatrick and Marissa Themeles who competed on Saturday, February 23rd.
Marissa placed 2nd in the Fling and 2nd in the Sean Truibhas.
Becky Placed 5th in Fling, 5th in the Sword and 6th in Reel.

In her first highland competition, Marrissa Themeles placed 6th in the Sean Truibhas on Saturday, January 19th. Congratulations Marissa!
On Saturday, December 1st 2007, Paige Vonk attended the BATD Highland Festival at the Bob Ruball Centre in North York, out of nine dancers Paige placed as follows:
Fling - Fourth Place
Seann Truibhas - Second Place
Flora - Second Place

On Sunday, November 18th in Ancaster, Ontario, Becky Fitzpatrick competed and placed 7th in her category. Excellent job Becky!
